Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) starts receiving firmware update in India

The April security patch features fixes for 49 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) in the Android OS.


Samsung has now started to rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy J7 (2016 variant) in India.

The smartphone is priced at $149.99 with activation (approximately Rs 9,676) and is available for purchase through Cricket Wireless. The Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime 2 features a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and is powered by a 1.35GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and gets its strength from a 2600mAh battery with a power-saving mode.
